Kathleen "Kitsie" Demeree, 81, of Cortland, NY passed away on Sunday December 5, 2021. She was born on January 8, 1940 in Batavia, NY to Ralph and Eleanor Jenner, and grew up in LeRoy, NY. Kitsie was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She graduated from Syracuse University, College of Human Development, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in 1961. She then moved to Cortland where she raised her family and was a dedicated member of the United Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir. Through the years, Kitsie worked retail in several shops including JoAnn Fabrics in Cortland and Patchwork Plus in Marcellus and taught sewing and knitting classes. For a decade, Kitsie participated in the Hoffman Challenge where she gained recognition for her submitted work. She was also a dedicated member of the Thumbstall Quilt Guild. Kitsie will be remembered for her love of quilting and knitting which she shared with friends and family. Kathleen is survived by her husband Robert Demeree, her children Anne (Scott) Tezak and Carl (Esther) Demeree, her brother John Jenner, and her grandchildren Michael Tezak, Lucas Demeree, and Katja Demeree. She is predeceased by her brother Peter Jenner. A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 11, 2021 at 11am at the United Presbyterian Church. Please join the family for a reception following the service in the Lankler Parlor. The funeral service can be live streamed on Saturday on the obituary page at 1pm.
